— How it started

It started with a question.
Hundreds of them, actually.

We’d share a room through Cowgirl Home & Ranch — a timber great room at six o’clock, a turquoise kitchen, a barndominium sitting out on open ground with nothing behind it but sky — and people wouldn’t just tell us they loved it. They wanted in.

Where do I find that? Who makes it? What color is that? Where’s the floor plan? Who could build it?

More than 85,000 people have gathered around a shared love of the western home, and what they were asking for kept getting bigger. They weren’t only looking for something to put in the house anymore.

They were dreaming about the house.

So we built Home & Ranch Living.

— What we’re here for

The dream is the starting point.

Some of what we publish is imagined. Some of it is standing on real ground in Texas or Montana. We run concept homes beside real ones, sourced rooms beside pure inspiration, and beautiful spaces beside the people who made them.

Because the western home was never one thing. It’s timber and stone. It’s a Spanish ranch with an arched courtyard and a limestone barn. It’s a barndominium with a kitchen worth copying. It’s a porch built for long evenings, a gate you slow down for, or a room with just enough turquoise to make you smile.

We’re here for all of it.

— How it works

We design it. You ask. We go find it.

One

We design it

Concept ranches, farmhouses and barndominiums, imagined room by room around a palette and a feeling. Not one hero shot — the whole house, front gate to barn.

Two

You ask

The paint. The light above the island. The floor, the rug, the gate. Every single time.

Three

We go find it

Some rooms stay pure inspiration, and that’s the point of them. Others we source piece by piece and name every maker we can find.

— Free for every ranch dreamer

The Dream Ranch Lookbook

Four ways to dream about the same thing. Rustic ranch, modern farmhouse, barndominium, Spanish ranch — each one imagined in full, with the palettes, the materials and the rooms that make it what it is.

It’s the fastest way to figure out which one is actually yours. And it’s free.

— Our digital magazine

Home & Ranch Living Quarterly

Everything we’ve been building, gathered into one issue — original concept homes, real ranches and the ones we’d move into tomorrow, sourced rooms, floor plans, and the makers and designers behind the work.

The Premiere Issue arrives this fall. After that, a new issue every season.

— For the ranch dreamer

Come here before you know exactly what you’re looking for.

You don’t have to be building anything.

You might be saving kitchens. Studying barndominium layouts. Looking at land you can’t buy yet. Planning a house that’s still three years out. Trying to work out why one room feels like you and another one doesn’t.

Or you might just like the dreaming. That’s plenty.

Our job is to keep showing you what’s possible — and to be easy to find your way back to, on the day the dream turns into a plan.

— For the people who make it real

The other half of the story.

There’s a second community at the heart of Home & Ranch Living: the people who build these homes, design these rooms, make these pieces, sell this land, and know how to turn an idea into something you can walk into.

Builders · Designers · Architects · Makers · Retailers · Craftspeople · Realtors · Brands

Our audience is already dreaming about what you make. We built the place where that dreaming and that expertise can finally meet — through editorial, sourced rooms, social, the quarterly, and longer-term partnerships.

We don’t think the best partnership is an ad dropped next to unrelated content. We’d rather make your work part of the story.

— The vision behind it

Built by two women who love the dream as much as the audience does.

Kim

Founder & Publisher

Kim founded Cowgirl Home & Ranch and Home & Ranch Living on a simple instinct: people weren’t finished looking when they found a beautiful western room. They wanted to walk farther into it. She sets the editorial direction here — what the western home can feel like, and how to put it within reach of the people dreaming about it.

Melanie

Art & Design Director

Melanie is the aesthetic behind the brand. She designs the concept homes in The Ranch Portfolio, she designed every piece of the Cowgirl Home & Ranch art collection, and she brings a rare understanding of how builder and realtor marketing actually works.

Between them they’ve spent years building places people want to step inside. Home & Ranch Living is where those places finally lead somewhere.

— Where we came from

Two brands. One shared beginning.

Home & Ranch Living

The whole world

Homes, ranches, architecture, barndominiums, design, land, floor plans, sourcing, and the people who make it possible.

Cowgirl Home & Ranch

The pieces you bring home

Original western wall art, color palettes, and a distinctly cowgirl point of view.

One showed us how many people were dreaming. The other was built to see how far those dreams could go.
